Margaret A. Harrell

Margaret A. Harrell is hands on with Life. A dual national, she has lived and written in Morocco, Switzerland, and Belgium as well as the U.S. The copy editor/assistant editor of Hell’s Angels and other remarkable books at Random House, she also was the international coordinator of a museum project in Belgium.
Since 1984 she has been in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World. Now living in Raleigh NC, she is a longtime freelance book editor, a light body meditation teacher, and a cloud photographer. A three-time MacDowell Colony fellow, she has degrees from Duke University and Columbia University and studied three years at the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich.
She has thirteen published books, including the four-volume Keep This Quiet! memoir series. Her most recent is a high-end coffee table collection of high-fidelity scans of Hunter Thompson’s letters to her in color, with narrative and interviews: The Hell’s Angels Letters: Hunter S. Thompson, Margaret Harrell and the Making of an American Classic (available only at Norfolk Press of San Francisco). Other passions are intermediate ballet and her dog Hans.
